Case Study: 6 months

We had a bricks and mortar retailer approach us with a specific problem.  While their in-store sales were doing great, their online retail sales were suffering.  We had a look at their website and noticed that the SEO was quite lacking.

After a complete SEO overhaul, 6 months later their website visitors had increased 55%.  Their conversions had increased 70% and their online sales had increased a whopping 45%.  This is the power of SEO.

Internal Linking and Search Engine appropriate Headers, Titles, and tags
Optimizes the way your site communicates internally. This is done primarily via a Sitemap that is interrelated and optimized and by carefully renaming each page to descriptively and succinctly match search engine queries.

Link Descriptions (alternate text)
Where the alternate or link text for links (be they on-site or on a partner site) is chosen based upon historic search results (derived primarily from Google searches) combined with the keywords your site wishes to match. The result is linking that increases your search engine ranking for particular keywords.

Reciprocal Linking
This technique involves exchanging descriptive links with other web masters to mutually benefit both of your web sites. The success of this relies on the context of the other web pages, their search engine ranking, and the willingness of other web-masters.

Content Creation
Content creation is an excellent means of creating more search engine hits. What you need is good, optimized, clean content that features, but doesn’t flood, descriptive keywords for your site.

Reciprocal Content Creation
An arrangement where two or more web-masters will create content on their respective sites about their compatriot’s web site(s). This could come in the form of an article or a feature about the website.

Site Optimization
Is a blanket term for the manipulation of wording, content and site structure for the purpose of attaining high search engine positioning.

Paid Links
Depending on the popularity of the site, you can get sometimes paid links on other websites for a fee. Assessing which sites offer a good deal is the real SEO challenge in this situation. The benefits from this practice can range between great and damaging to your site as major search engines often frown on this practice. However, with the proper expertise, this can be done effectively and on a budget.

Advertising
Old fashioned advertising aside (printed, radio, television), there are a number of advertising options available for SEO. We primarily use Google Adwords for our ad campaigns. The two options available for advertising are: Cost Per Click CPC – where you pay based upon each user click of your ads and; Cost Per Thousand (CPM) where you pay based upon how many thousands of times your ads have been viewed.

We can produce effective, targeted ads that get a lot of meaningful clicks and conversions. We can also create attractive image ads that, from experience, get at least 50% more clicks than even the most successful text based ads.
